What is Status Pending?
Status Pending is a category that contains Vertical Wind Tunnels past, present and possibly future. However, due to
whatever circumstances, verification of the status of these tunnels has not been accomplished.
Occasionally a facility becomes part of this category because they were ready to build, but never did, sometimes it's due to a very long downtime for repairs or refurbishing, and other times the machines are simply disassembled and left in storage. Many vwts are prematurely announced to the public long before funding has been secured and they remain in limbo for years while they are obtaining the funds to complete their project. Whatever the reason, we include them for the sake of completeness and in hopes that they will soon join the list with the rest of the operational wind tunnel facilites.
Status Pending does NOT include vertical wind tunnels that are under construction. Under Construction means that funding has been secured and the process of constructing the tunnel is in an ACTIVE state.
