This portable unit was used in areas like Hawaii, as well as locally at Action Park in New Jersey. The deck
can accommodate 400 people.
This tunnel was brought to the US in 1987.
It operated for 10 summer seasons at Action Park, a water park in the mountains of Northern NJ. In the winter the Aerodium would sometimes pack up and move to places like Puerto Rico and Hawaii where the weather is much warmer in those months. This tunnel was many people's first while visiting the very popular water park. 2 min flights were only $7 in 1990, and rose to the amount of $10 per 2 min in 1997. The tunnel had airspeeds of about 90 mph driven by a DC3 propeller and a 750 hp diesel motor, and used a large airbag for safety. The tunnel sat on the way up a ski slope so once out of the building provided a beautiful view. This tunnel discontinued operation in 1997 when the water park facility was sold to another company which got rid of the Action in the park. Mountain Creek still operates in the summer season as a water park, and in the winter as a major ski resort.
